Photo Gallery ![]() A few images of Tijax, the place where the boat is currently moored and work being one on the boat Click here to read the story Stuart pulling the floor up, after we realised that the wood had rotted in a couple of places. We got a quote to get the floor re laid but it came up as $3500.00 so we decided we could live without a wooden floor and set about removing it ourselves (well Stuart's self, whilst I gave helpful hints and undid a few screws!) The work on the floor then came to the grand total of around $10.00 for a pot of paint and a couple of brushes! More floor removal
Then painting the floor - Looks as good as new
Whilst the paint was drying on the boat we stayed in one of Tijax's jungle lodges for the night. The view out the back of our room Stuart having a beer on the balcony, with the bitey things, the terrapins, this fish, the scorpion spiders, the iguanas, the bats and the birds and quite possible a monster that broke into our room and ate all our bread! Our beds for the night Me wrapped up like a mummy trying to keep out all the spiders and mozzies, in a mozzie net full of holes, which someone has mindfully patched up with plasters! Big spider in our room, it doesn't look very big here, but it really was honest! It doesn't show it but it is the size of my hand. This beatle was also part of the wildlife and in full haphazard flight was the size of tennis ball! Click here to read the story |
