Photo Gallery ![]() Guanaja - Honduras Click here to read the story Taking a look around the main settlement in Guanaja Washing hanging up to dry along the walk way Sitting on one of the piers waiting for the shops to reopen, they all close for an hour or so at lunch time and there really isn't anywhere else to wait apart from the local knocking shop! Looking down the East side of the town
The main land of Guanaja in the background Over at Josh's Cay on the West side of the island, moored up next to the sail boat 'Heart of Oak'. They had their own personal dolphin that followed then where ever they went, since they left Guanaja we haven't seen the dolphin!
Grahams place, he is the guy who provides all the moorings for free, and will supply boaters with free water and ice. There is a restaurant and bar on the islands that does fantastic sea food. We had a couple of very good nights at the bar and missed out on some un-missable photographic opportunities, the best being Jack falling in the water, clinging to the side of the dingy like a limpet shouting 'SUZZIE, PULL ME BACK IN!! The only unfortunate even, we lost our dinghy and outboard , there is a possibility that the ropes just broke. Mind you it was very unlikely that someone would want to take a soft bottom dingy with a 2 horse power seagull engine! Its all a bit of a mystery, anyhow after asking around in town we managed to get hold of another dingy and engine. Here is our new engine! Stu in the new dingy trying to start the new engine, ho hum, nothing is ever that simple! Off for a day trip to the waterfall, this is Jack and Suzie following behind in their dingy
Past a little settlement on the mainland What the locals call Alcatraz Island which has a fuel station and Yamaha dealer. It's a pretty apt name considering the state of the fuel they sold us, it was full of sand, water and god knows what and managed to block the filters on the boats engine in minutes! Stuart zipping along with our new engine. At this point we would have some really nice pictures of the waterfall and a pretty little restaurant that we stopped in on the other side of the island. Also some nice pictures of Jack and Suzie's boat under sail on the way to Providencia, only I have just managed to unwitting delete them all. I am very am very angry with myself :-( Click here to read the story
